In mid-July 2024, Suntory Global Spirits' Knob Creek launched a new expression, a Bourbon and rye blended whiskey bottled at 113 proof (56.5% ABV).
The new limited-time offering is a blend of nine-year-old Bourbon and seven-year-old rye.
“Knob Creek has captivated whiskey fans since its inception, and this year, we are pushing traditional whiskey boundaries with our new Bourbon x Rye blend, delivering two of our best expressions in one flavourful sip,” said Freddie Noe, eighth-generation master distiller at Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, KY, where the whiskey brand is produced.
“It is an honour to work with my dad to go beyond the traditional craft, an unexpected offering that upholds my grandfather’s vision of creating high-quality, flavourful whiskey.”
Knob Creek Bourbon x Rye limited-release retails for US$44.99 (£35) for a 750ml bottle.
Following a hiatus of releasing mainly non-age statement expressions between 2016 and 2020, caused by not having enough stock in the warehouse ready for bottling, Knob Creek has introduced and re-launched several age statement releases in the last four years.
First introduced in 1992, the nine-year-old 100 proof Bourbon was re-introduced in 2020, followed by the 12-year-old and nine-year-old single barrel Bourbon. The oldest Bourbon from the label, the 18-year-old, followed in 2022.
The Knob Creek seven-year-old rye made its debut in May 2023, followed by the 10-year-old rye in June 2024.
Knob Creek's only flavoured Bourbon, Smoked Maple, was introduced in 2013.
